“Amas da terra” was born from a vital, emotional and professional need to show the world one of the pillars that make up the essence of my land, Galicia, those who give it a unique personality in terms of sociology, way of life, education, thought, economy and, of course, gastronomy: women.
"I always say that the blue stripe of the Galician flag could be replaced by a collage of thousands of women's faces, since no other symbol better represents Galicia, each region, each town or village". Women as the support of a territory. A historical, anthropological symbol, of the past, but also of the present and the future. Galicia is a feminine name.


What unites us?
The Amas da Terra Foundation offers a reflection on those who created, preserved, transmitted and produced the identity of the recipes, food and culinary culture that nourishes us, the so-called "star chefs".
What is our purpose?
Amas da Terra aims to put a face to all this sociological and emotional support: women with names and surnames who make up the vital essence of a territory and one of its main cultural instruments: its gastronomy.
What is our goal?
We want to create a meeting place for them where synergies arise and incorporate other agents, entities and professionals who multiply their value and help them improve their conditions. In addition, we want this space to be a place where they can meet, feel supported, valued and loved. A place of care and affection.
